As Allelica continues to work toward enhancing accessible data-driven healthcare, we are proud to announce a collaboration with Labcorp to ensure polygenic and monogenic risk factors are assessed and accounted for in the patient journey.

Labcorp is a global leader of innovative and comprehensive laboratory services that helps doctors, hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, researchers and patients make clear and confident decisions. They provide insights and advance science to improve health and improve lives through diagnostics and drug development laboratory capabilities. With a global network of laboratories and an extensive patient population, Labcorp has partnered with Allelica for multi-ancestry polygenic risk score (PRS) analysis utilizing our PRS software.

“Allelica’s technology enables Labcorp to better cater to a broad spectrum of ancestral backgrounds in diverse digital infrastructures” said Shakti Ramkissoon, M.D., Ph.D., MBA, vice president, medical lead for oncology at Labcorp. “By integrating Allelica’s PRS platform into its genetic testing platforms, Labcorp continues to strive for even more precise, comprehensive, and accessible test results while advancing accuracy in genetic risk assessments and ultimately improving preventive healthcare” said Ramkissoon.

“When providing patients with risk assessments for any life-threatening common disease, it is imperative to take into account all risk factors involved,” said Allelica CEO Giordano Bottà. “Risk assessments that do not account for PRS are missing a critical piece of the puzzle. By making integrated risk assessments accessible to patients at scale through our relationship with Labcorp, we are one step closer to our goal of reducing disease burden with better medicine.”

The goal of this effort is to lead to an overall reduction in risk of life-threatening diseases by more precisely identifying ancestry-based risk factors to support earlier and more targeted monitoring and treatment.

Stay tuned for further updates on this collaboration as we work together to bring the benefits of advanced genetic testing to patients and providers across the U.S.
